Jablonowski to Speak at Michigan Institute for Computational Discovery and Engineering Symposium

Prof. Christiane Jablonowski will present at the Michigan Institute for Computational Discovery and Engineering Annual Symposium in March.

U-M Climate and Space Professor Christiane Jablonowski, Ph.D., will speak at the Michigan Institute for Computational Discovery and Engineering (MICDE) Annual Symposium on March 24, 2023 at the Rackham Amphitheater.

Held on U-M’s Central Campus, this year’s event will address emerging and future paradigms in high performance scientific computing. The presentations for the symposium include:

  • “Challenges, Opportunities, and National Needs in Computational Science,” presented by Fariba Fahroo, Program Officer at the Air Force Office of Scientific Research
  • “DoE’s Exascale Computing Project,” presented by Doug Kothe, Director of the U.S. Department of Energy Exascale Computing Project
  • “Whole Device Modeling of Tokamak Reactors,” presented by Amitava Bhattacharjee, Professor of Astrophysical Sciences and Head of the Theory Department at Princeton University
  • “Legion: Portable High Performance Programming for Distributed Heterogeneous Architectures,” presented by Alex Aiken, Professor of Computer Science at Stanford University
  • “Quantum Computing: Developments and Opportunities,” presented by Patty Lee, Chief Scientist at Honeywell Quantum Solutions
  • “Seamless Prediction of Earth Systems: From Minutes to Months,” presented by Christiane Jablonowski, Professor at the Department of Climate and Space Sciences and Engineering

The symposium will also include a poster session highlighting notable computational work from U-M researchers and students.
