Congratulations to our new Climate & Space PhD!
Dr. Shane will begin a post doctoral position at the Colorado Center for Astrodynamics Research.
Dr. Shane will begin a post doctoral position at the Colorado Center for Astrodynamics Research.
Another CLASP doctoral student has successfully defended their dissertation.
Dr. Alexander Shane
Defense Date: January 31, 2022
Dissertation Title: “Wave-Particle Interactions and Their Effect on Electron Transport on Mars’ Crustal Fields”
Faculty Advisor: Prof. Michael Liemohn
Dr. Shane has accepted a postdoc position in the Colorado Center for Astrodynamics Research at the University of Colorado Boulder. He will be studying lightning generated whistlers and their effects on radiation belt electrons. He will also work with a Monte Carlo model to quantify the contribution of radiation belt precipitation to the effective radiation dose at spacecraft and aviation altitudes.
Congratulations, Dr. Shane!
