Associate Professor Gretchen Keppel-Aleks and Professor Michael Liemohn, two faculty members at U-M Climate and Space, have been honored with prestigious awards from the College of Engineering.
Dr. Gretchen Keppel-Aleks received the Raymond J. and Monica E. Schultz Outreach and Diversity Award for her commitment to outreach and diversity at the University of Michigan and beyond. This award honors faculty with a deep and sustained commitment to outreach and diversity as an important part of the university’s educational mission, demonstrated by academic and outreach programs that show intellectual excellence and diversity in service, teaching, and scholarship.
Dr. Michael Liemohn, who also serves as the Director of the U-M Space Institute, received the Trudy Huebner Service Excellence Award for his excellent service in the space sciences and at the University of Michigan. This award honors faculty who demonstrate significant service to the college or university, including advising student groups and developing extracurricular programs.
To honor these faculty and others, the College of Engineering will be celebrating during a faculty event to be held off campus on March 24, 2023. As part of this honor, the faculty members will also receive a monetary award of $4,000. The department is proud to congratulate these honorees.
