The annual Michigan Geophysical Union (MGU) Symposium is held each spring. MGU is sponsored by both the Earth and Environmental Sciences and the Climate and Space Sciences and Engineering departments.
MGU is a friendly forum designed to showcase and reward outstanding student research in various aspects of Earth, oceanic, atmospheric, and space sciences, as well as foster interdepartmental dialogue and camaraderie. All faculty, staff, graduate, and undergraduate students are encouraged to attend to learn about the exciting research that is taking place in the UM science community.
MGU 2021 will be held online Thursday, April 15th and Friday, April 16th from 10:00 am.. to 3:00 p.m. with a lunch break from 12:00-1:00 p.m. It will include both asynchronous and live presentations! All Michigan faculty, staff, alumni, and students (as well as family and friends!) are welcome to attend.
Student talks! We are offering the chance for students to give short talks about their work. There will be opportunities for both asynchronous and live time slots. Space will be competitive for live talks due to the limited time available. The option for asynchronous slides or posters may also be available based on participation.
Citable abstracts! We will be publishing all student abstracts in a digital abstract booklet with a digital object identifier (DOI) to provide a CV-boosting reference volume that features the exciting research conducted over the past year! This document will be hosted by Deep Blue and be the start of a series that continues in future meetings. Note: we do have the option to exclude your abstract from the DOI list in case your work or data are time/copyright limited.
Abstract Submission Deadline: 11:59pm Wednesday, March 15. Abstracts from Undergraduate and Graduate students are highly encouraged!
