MGU will be hosting the 10th annual Michigan Geophysical Union student research symposium this year, an event sponsored by both Earth and Environmental Sciences (EARTH) and Atmospheric, Oceanic and Space Sciences (AOSS).

About MGU

MGU is a friendly forum designed to showcase and reward outstanding student research in various aspects of Earth, oceanic, atmospheric, and space sciences, as well as foster interdepartmental dialogue and camaraderie. All faculty, staff, graduate, and undergraduate students are encouraged to attend to learn about the exciting research that is taking place in the UM science community.

Poster Presentations May Win up to $500

Both graduate and undergraduate students are also invited to submit a poster, and all posters will be judged by department faculty (and could win up to $500!).

To present a poster, please do the following:

  1. Download the following form and fill out the information requested. MGU Abstract Form
  2. Rename the file to include your first and last name (e.g., "Smith_John_MGU").
  3. Attach the file to an email with the subject "MGU abstract" and send to Justin Tsu (

Abstracts are due by Wednesday, March 20. Details regarding poster preparations will be made available to you upon receipt of your abstract.
