The U-M MLK Symposium Planning Committee is excited to welcome Hill Harper as the keynote memorial lecturer of the 2018 Annual Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Symposium

The keynote memorial lecture event is not ticketed and is free and open to the public. Doors open at 9:30am. 

Hill Harper is an award-winning actor, best-selling author, and philanthropist. He starred on CSI: NY from 2004 to 2013 and currently plays Calder Michaels on USA Network’s Covert Affairs. Harper is the author of four New York Times best-sellers and has earned seven NAACP Image Awards for his writing and acting. He is also the founder of the Manifest Your Destiny Foundation, dedicated to empowering underserved youth through mentorship, scholarship, and grant programs.

Throughout the months of January and February, the MLK Symposium provides the community with over 60 opportunities to participate in lectures, live performances, exhibits, workshops and community service projects sponsored by academic and non-academic units, student and staff organizations and community groups.

The Annual U-M Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Symposium is coordinated by the Office of Academic Multicultural Initiatives, a unit under the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
