Climate & Space assistant research scientist Aleida Higginson has been selected to receive the American Geophysical Union (AGU) 2018 Fred L. Scarf Award.

Established in 1989, the Fred L. Scarf Award is given annually to one honoree in recognition of an outstanding dissertation that contributes directly to solar-planetary science. Eligible candidates have been awarded the degree of Ph.D. (or highest equivalent terminal degree) and have completed their degree requirements during the 17-month time period prior to the award presentation year. The Scarf awardee is required to deliver an invited talk on his/her dissertation topic at the organization's Fall Meeting in Washington, D.C. this coming December.

Congratulations, Aleida!
