Prof Atreya named Fellow of the Japan Geoscience Union

Climate & Space is very pleased to announce that Professor Sushil Atreya has been named a Fellow of the Japan Geoscience Union (JpGU).

The JpGU established the Japan Geoscience Union Fellowship Program in order “…to confer fellowship honors upon individuals who have rendered conspicuous contributions to the field of geoscience in Japan by making significant discoveries, breakthroughs, paradigm shifts, or contributing to the development of Japanese geoscience and the dissemination of geoscientific knowledge.”

Professor Atreya’s Fellowship Commendation reads:

“For outstanding contributions to planetary atmospheres research and planetary missions to understand the origin and evolution of planets in our solar system and in extrasolar systems.”

The Fellowship will be formally conferred by the JpGU President in May at the 2018 Japan Geoscience Union Fellowship Awards ceremony and reception in Tokyo.
