Department of Climate and Space Sciences and Engineering in the College of Engineering at the University of Michigan

B.S.E. in Climate and Meteorology

Students interested in understanding the Earth’s climate and weather and applying their knowledge to solve complex societal problems should major in Climate and Meteorology. The degree has two concentrations that provide small class-sizes and hands-on research experiences in either Climate Science and Impacts Engineering or Meteorology.

Choose from Two Concentrations

Climate Science and Impacts Engineering Concentration

The Climate Science and Impacts Engineering concentration is for students interested in studying the Earth’s changing climate and understand how climate change impacts other aspects of the Earth’s system including society. More Info

Meteorology Concentration

The Meteorology concentration allows students to obtain a broad-based education that provides the theoretical and computational skills necessary to properly analyze and understand meteorological phenomenon ranging from synoptic scale weather systems to micrometeorological energy exchanges at the Earth’s surface.
